Indigenous Partnerships Office - West (IPO-West) within Natural Resources Canada is looking for talented people to join its growing team. If you’re innovative, action-oriented, adaptable, and collaborative, we want to hear from you!
IPO-West houses the secretariat for the Indigenous Advisory and Monitoring Committees (IAMCs) for Trans Mountain Expansion Project and the Line 3 Replacement Program. The IAMCs form the basis of a new relationship between the Government of Canada, the National Energy Board and Indigenous groups on energy infrastructure projects. They are a collaborative forum to advance the participation of Indigenous concerns related to environmental protection, safety and socioeconomic imperatives of the two major projects.
This is a unique opportunity to:
-explore western Canada through community visits in support of capacity and relationship building;
-strengthen your interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills; and
-collaborate with other federal departments and Indigenous partners.
As a Project Officer, you will support the administration of the IAMC Grants and Contributions funding. The duties may include:
-liaising with various stakeholders (applicants/recipients, prospective applicants, general public, etc.) and responding to inquiries related to program objectives, requirements and criteria;
-supporting the development of briefing materials for management and the IAMCs;
-analyzing funding applications and make recommendations based on professional judgement; and
-reviewing and analyzing financial reports to support project payment recommendations.
Anticipatory process. A pool of (fully or partially) qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar PM-04 positions at Natural Resources Canada with various tenures, various language requirements, various security requirements, various conditions of employment and for various locations.

Your résumé.
A degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relevant to the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience analyzing information, including spreadsheets, and summarizing it in written format.
Experience reviewing budgets and financial information.
Experience working with Indigenous groups in western Canada.
Recent* experience liaising with stakeholders or clients to interpret guidelines or procedures and to provide information.
Experience preparing briefing materials, reports and making recommendations to management**.
Experience initiating and maintaining contacts with representatives of other organizations to implement programs or services.
*Recent experience is defined as within the last two (2) years.
**Management is defined as executives, managers, or a council of representatives.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in project management.
Experience reviewing proposals for funding and claims for reimbursement.
