Key Activities of the Registry Clerk:
• Review and process of legal documents.
• Provision of basic, general procedural advice in the litigation process of the four Courts.
• Review and identify pertinent documents on files for use by the Judiciary and litigants.
• Maintain original and duplicate Court files.
• Preparation of general correspondence, lists, forms and reports.
• Maintain office supply inventory.
• Maintain library, including updates, shelving and maintenance of books and periodicals.
• Provide administrative and clerical services, including answering and directing telephone calls; receiving, recording and distributing mail and faxes; responding to client queries; assisting with banking; filing; operation of basic office equipment and computers; and, scanning of documents.
The Courts Administration Service (CAS) provides services to the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, the Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada and the Tax Court of Canada.
The CAS’s mission is to provide timely and accurate registry, judicial and corporate services to the four superior courts and to their clients in the most innovative and effective manner, while promoting a healthy workplace and encouraging employees’ ongoing contribution to service delivery excellence.

At minimum, a secondary school diploma OR an acceptable combination of education, training or experience related to the position.
Experience in working with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook and Excel.
Experience in performing clerical or administrative support services.
Experience providing front line service to internal or external clients.
At minimum, successful completion of a two-year post-secondary program with acceptable specialization in judiciary, public or business administration.
Experience making recommendations and providing procedural advice to internal or external clients.
Experience working in a judicial, quasi-judicial or legal environment.
