Work environment

The Commission works with organizations across Canada to promote diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace cultures. In addition, our mandate includes the protection of human rights through effective case and complaint management.
Our office is conveniently located in Downtown Ottawa on Slater Street (near Kent).

Intent of the process

This is an inventory of candidates to staff similar positions of various tenures, security requirements and linguistic profiles.

Casual employment is a temporary form of employment for a maximum of 90 working days per department, in a calendar year, to meet needs arising from vacation, sick leave, training, special projects, etc. A casual worker may not apply to internal job opportunities.

Term employment is a temporary form of employment for a fixed period of time.

Employees of the federal public service may be considered for assignments or secondments.

Education
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or related experience in administration.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE: COMMON TO ALL POSITIONS:
Experience providing clerical or administrative support services

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS BELOW MAY BE APPLIED AS ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS OR ASSET QUALIFICATIONS DEPENDING ON THE POSITION TO BE STAFFED.
-Experience in maintaining filing systems and providing record support services in a records office or library.
-Experience working with electronic document/record management system such as Hummingbird DM, Livelink Records Server/iRIMS software or RM administration tool.
-Experience in conducting document and file searches for clients.
- Experience in preparing correspondence.
- Experience in proof reading and editing texts.
- Experience in performing data entry, and in using various computer applications, including e-mail and Word.
- Experience maintaining electronic and manual documentation tracking and filing systems.
-Experience in providing administrative support in staffing in the Federal Public Service (such as preparing letter of offers, maintain staffing files, preparing posters, communicating with candidates, etc.)
- Experience in providing administrative support in classification in the Federal Public Service
-Experience in maintaining a BF system.
-Experience in using an electronic human resources management system for inquiry and data entry.
-Experience in working simultaneously on various staffing actions/files.
-Experience in using My GCHR for inquiry and data entry.
-Experience in providing support services to a Manager/Director level or higher including; maintaining an agenda/calendar, coordinating and planning of meetings, preparing briefing material, managing correspondence and emails.
- Experience in managing a budget in the organisation.
- Experience scheduling and organizing travel arrangements and processing claims.
