Intent of the process

A pool of fully and/or partially qualified candidates may be created and may be used to staff identical or similar positions with various language profiles (Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB or CBC/CBC), various security requirements and conditions of employment within the department of Canadian Heritage.

All candidates, regardless of their linguistic profile, are encouraged to apply since a *non-imperative appointment may be considered, if required.

* Staffing procedure for a bilingual position allowing the consideration of applicants who meet all essential qualifications except for the requisite language skills. Employees who are appointed on a non-imperative basis have two years to meet the language requirements of their position following the language training.

Education
Graduation with a law degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Degree equivalency

Experience

Experience in working on technical, regulatory or legislative issues related to intellectual property; or experience in conducting policy analysis related to intellectual property.

*Experience in working with the cultural industries, with a cultural organization or on cultural issues.

Experience in playing a leadership role on a project**, which involved engaging with multiple interest groups and taking into account differing viewpoints.

* Experience could be in any context – for example, work, school, volunteer, etc.
** Project should be understood as any major undertaking, involving considerable effort; but could be in any context – for example, work, school, volunteer, etc.
