Possession of a valid unrestricted Class 1 Province of Alberta driver’s license with air brake endorsement (or provincial or territorial equivalent)

An acceptable Clean Driver’s Abstract
Experience in the operation of a grader and at least 2 of the following heavy equipment: front-end loader, backhoe, bulldozer or dump truck.
Possess valid certification or certification in one or more of the following:
- Transportation of dangerous goods
- Forklift Certification
- Heavy Equipment Certification Training
- Conflict Resolution
- Snow and Ice Ops
- Other certificates related to the position
Experience in long haul driving.
Experience in the transportation of dangerous goods.
Experience in snow removal operations.
Experience in basic road construction.
Experience in road maintenance.

Information on language requirements
Ability to complete a road test on the grader and 1 or more of the following pieces of heavy equipment: front-end loader, backhoe, bulldozer or dump truck, as per candidate’s experience.
Ability to carry out daily inspections of heavy equipment and identify equipment malfunctions.
Ability to demonstrate proper lifting techniques, such as for changing a cutting edge.
Ability to communicate orally.

Operational Requirements:
- Must be willing to work a shift schedule
- Must be willing and able to work overtime as authorized
- Willing and able to attend employer directed training
- Must be willing and able to work in adverse weather conditions
- Willing and able to obtain and retain a DND 404
- Willing and able to maintain and produce a driver’s log book
- Must wear CSA approved safety footwear and other personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Lift and carry items weighing up to 25 kg in accordance with general safety practices as required

- Must be willing to work a shift schedule

- Willing and able to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Possession of a valid unrestricted Class 1 driver’s licence with air brake endorsement valid in the province of work
- An acceptable driver’s abstract dated no later than 90 days before the date of appointment which a candidate is notified of being considered for appointment

In person driving and lifting tests will be conducted in Edmonton, AB. If applicable, candidates will be responsible for all costs associated with travel for such assessments.
