Please note that assessments are planned for July-August. Candidates are expected to make a reasonable effort to make themselves available for assessments as scheduled.
Under the control and supervision of the discipline manager, the main duties of the incumbent are:
- Assess the compliance by performing quality control reviews of documents prepared by external consultants for small and medium scope and complexity projects. Assist senior engineers in these same functions for projects of broader scope and complexity ;
- Provide advice and assistance to clients on straightforward fire protection situations ;
- Provide fire protection assessments of existing buildings to be renovated or leased. Assist senior engineers in these same functions for projects of broader scope and complexity;
- Identify changes to fire safety regulations and maintain this regulation current.
The immediate need is to staff one term position for two (2) years, with possibility of extension, in Montréal city.
A pool of partially qualified candidates will be create to staff similar positions with various tenures (term and/or permanent) and with various linguistic requirements within Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC),Quebec Region.

Your résumé.
Education: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution* in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or in some other field of engineering related to the duties of the position.
*Degree refers to a baccalaureate from a recognized university with a specialization in the listed fields
Professional Accreditation : Canadian certification as an engineer.
Recent* experience in the field of fire protection, fire alarm or the application of codes and standards for buildings construction.
Note : “ Recent experience* ”is defined as the depth and breadth of experience (i.e. scope/degree of experience, exposure to various activities or complex cases, level of exposure, etc…) that would be usually acquired in approximately two (2) years and obtained in the last fifteen (3) years.
