EDUCATION
- Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information security or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years' combined experience working in cyber/IT security in one or more of the following areas:
- Security Engineering
- Security Architecture
- Security Operations
- Security Risk Management
- Security Audit
- Security Incident Management
- Security Policy Management
- Security Governance, Reporting and Compliance
- Security Training and Awareness
EDUCATION
- Graduation with a degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field related to the position.
* Degree: A baccalaureate or higher level degree, as established by educational authorities, unless the type of credential is specified in the relevant Qualification Standard.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATIONS
Successful completion of one or more occupational certifications in the field of cyber/IT/information security. Of particular emphasis are:
- CISSP as issued by ISC2
- CISM as issued by ISACA
- A GIAC certification as issued by SANS
Successful completion of one or more occupational certifications in the field of project management. Of particular emphasis are:
- PMP as issued by PMI
- PRINCE2 as issued by AXELOS
EXPERIENCE
7 years combined experience working in cyber/IT security in one or more of the following areas:
- Security Engineering
- Security Architecture
- Security Operations
- Security Risk Management
- Security Audit
- Security Incident Management
- Security Policy Management
- Security Governance, Reporting and Compliance
- Security Training and Awareness
Experience planning and conducting IT Security threat and risk assessments and/or security assessment and authorization
Experience providing security architecture advice and guidance on the selection and incorporation of security controls throughout all aspects of information system design
Experience in developing and delivering an IT security training and awareness program
Experience developing cyber/IT/information security policy instruments (policies, directives, standards, etc) and managing compliance efforts.
Experience coordinating response to cyber security incidents
Experience coordinating or managing IT projects
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

OSFI's Ottawa location is downtown with easy access to shopping, restaurants, gyms, financial institutions and more. The building is less than a five minute walk from the Transitway and from the nearest STO stop.
As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service.
