The intent of this process is to hire an indeterminate employee and to create a pool of qualified candidates. This pool of qualified candidates may be used to appoint indeterminate and term employees in similar positions with similar requirements.

Education:
Successful completion of an under graduate degree from a recognized university in the field of Survey Engineering, Geomatics and/or a certification as a practicing Provincial Land Surveyor in good standing with an Association of Land Surveyors in one of the Canadian provinces or Commission as a Canada Lands Surveyor.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in various aspects of legal and land surveying in Canada.
- Experience in legal survey data research which may include: the reviewing and interpretation of survey plans, title searches and land ownership analysis.
- Field work experience such as: legal surveys, control surveys, topographic surveys, photogrammetric mapping, and in-shore hydrographic surveys (channels and wharves).
Asset Qualifications
Occupational Certification:
- Membership in good standing with an Association in at least one of the four Atlantic Provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland or Prince Edward Island.
- Current member of a Geomatics organization, such as: Provincial Association of Land Surveyors, Professional Surveyors of Canada, The Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA), Geospatial Information & Technology Associations or similar organization.
Asset Experience:
- Experience in participating on Geomatics committees.
- Experience in the delivery of Geomatics products and services which may include, but not limited to: provision of expert advice in the field of Geomatics, real estate transactions, airport zoning regulations, hydrographic services, GIS geospatial data management and Land Information Management.

Organizational Needs

Reliability Status security clearance - Some positions may require Secret clearance.

Failure to attend an assessment without a valid reason will result with your application being given no further consideration in this process.
Candidates will be required to submit their proof of education documents at the time of assessment.
Candidate(s) must meet the Essential Qualifications and the Condition of Employment to be appointed to the position. Candidate(s) may be required to meet the Asset Qualifications, Organizational Needs, and Operational Requirements depending on the requirements of the position being staffed.
