Patent Business Intelligence and Information Management Services (PBIIMS) is looking for talented individuals who are interested in working with an energetic, tightly knit team that provide top quality information management services. While our primary clients are the well over 400 patent examiners who work at the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), others include CIPO’s senior management team, patent agents, inventors and universities across the country.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff positions for an indeterminate and temporary period, the number of positions to fill is to be determined.

A pool of fully qualified candidates may be created and may be used to staff similar positions at the AS-03 group and level with various tenures and various linguistic profiles within Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
E1: Extract raw data in order to either design or develop reports intended for senior management or provide large amounts of data to clients.
E2: Significant* experience in using Microsoft Excel, including automating worksheets, creating macros, graphics and pivot tables.

*Significant experience refers to the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various, complex related activities as the MAIN function of the position.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EDUCATION:
Post-secondary education in Computer Sciences, Information Technology and/or Big Data.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
AE1: Experience using IBM Cognos 8 and up to create or validate reports;
AE2: Experience managing privileges and permissions, user and group security in GCDocs environment;
AE3: Experience in testing of software and system integration;
AE4: Experience in VBA, VBS and XML languages.

A3: Ability to prioritize work.
A4: Ability to communicate effectively orally.
A5: Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
