Information on accommodation for persons with disabilities
The Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), a special operating agency of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, is responsible for administering Canada's system of intellectual property rights.
The Client service Centre is located at Place du Portage in Gatineau, Québec.
Working hours: employees are required to work from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. eastern standard time. Please note that the working hours are not flexible and it is not possible to adhere to flexible work arrangements.
The main functions of the positions are:
- Receive and process client requests received via different service channels
- Interpret and disseminate requests from internal and external clients for certified and regular copies of Intellectual Property documents
- Greet and help clients visiting the premises
A pool of partially qualified candidates may be created to staff similar positions within Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) with various tenures (indeterminate, deployment, acting, assignment, secondment), linguistic and security requirements.

Education:
Secondary school diploma or Public Service Commission-approved alternative
Experience:
- Experience in dealing with the public
- Experience in providing clerical support services, including entering data, preparing correspondence and filing
- Experience in the use of a database for the purpose of data analysis, manipulation, verification and retrieval
Asset qualifications:
- Experience with the following research databases: Techsource, Design Plus, Intrepid and/or Creation
Various language requirements
Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB and/or BBC/BBC
Information on language requirements
Knowledge:
-Knowledge of the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO)’s organization and structure
-Basic knowledge of CIPO’s website contents
Abilities:
