Duties

You will be required to provide security services in support of members of the judiciary of the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, the Court Martial Appeal Court or the Tax Court of Canada. Tasks include (but are not limited to):

For both streams:
Monitoring CCTV for potential security incidents;
Monitoring Access Control and alarm;
Report writing; responding to emails;
Monitoring intelligence feeds and reporting as necessary;
Maintaining various logs;
Answering an emergency phone line and issuing Access cards.

In addition the Senior SOC Operator will have the following duties:
Interpreting and drafting risk assessments;
Frequent dealings with internal/external clients.

Shift details:
GS-06 - Full time Monday to Friday from 15:00 – 23:00hrs
GS-04 #1 – Saturday and Sunday 08:00-16:00hrs (possibility for extra shifts to replace GS-06 when necessary)
GS-04 #2 – Saturday and Sunday 16:00-24:00hrs (possibility for extra shifts to replace GS-06 when necessary)

A pool of pre-qualified or fully qualified candidates may be created to staff similar or identical positions with various tenure, various linguistic profiles and security requirements within the Courts Administration Service.

EDUCATION (For both streams):

At minimum, a post-secondary school diploma in a field related to the position OR acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES (For both streams):

Experience writing draft reports for clients/managers on physical security and emergency threats and risks and plans.

Experience in the provision of security services.

Experience in dealing with internal and external clients/stakeholders.

Stream 1 ONLY:
Experience in the provision of advice, leadership, services and policy interpretation on security matters.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET EXPERIENCES (For both streams):

Experience working within a judicial or quasi-judicial environment.

Experience working in a Security Operations Centre
