Please be advised this process will be used to staff positions in the new department of
Indigenous Services Canada. The creation of the department of Indigenous Services Canada is an important development in our renewed relationship with Indigenous peoples. These structural changes will allow our government to work more effectively with Indigenous partners to provide services that improve people’s day-to-day quality of life.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position on a term basis. A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions with various employment types and tenures (indeterminate, specified period or acting appointment, deployment, assignment, secondment). It may also be used to staff similar positions in Halifax with various tenures in the future.

A covering letter in 4,000 words (maximum) "VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE: It is your responsibility as a candidate to submit a cover letter, which clearly outlines how you meet each of the screening qualifications (i.e Education and Experience Qualifications, both Essential and Assets) as well as a CV which is linked to the information in your cover letter. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
Graduate from an Accredited School of Dental Hygiene or the National School of Dental Therapy

Degree equivalency

Occupational Certification:
Current registration as a dental hygienist within the Provincial regulatory body (dental hygiene graduates only)

Experience:
Recent experience in Oral Health treatment service as a Dental Hygienist or Dental Therapist
