The employee will be expected to perform all functions of the positions remotely from an Indigenous Services Canada office but report to a manager who might be working in another location.

Stream 1 - Manager, Area/Zone Nursing Program
Stream 2 - Regional Home Care Coordinator
Stream 3 - Regional Communicable Disease Manager

You must clearly identify which stream(s) you are applying for in your application.

You will be required to demonstrate the Essential Qualifications (i.e. Education and Experience) and Asset Qualifications (if applicable) for the initial screening in your cover letter. It is not sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. You must use each qualification factor as a heading and clearly demonstrate when, where, and how the qualification was met through substantiation by concrete examples under each heading. Intent of the process

There is an immediate need to fill one (1) position on a temporary basis (acting/assignment) and there may be two (2) indeterminate opportunity in the near future. The results of this process may be used to staff same or similar positions with various tenures, various security clearance levels, and/or various linguistic profiles within Indigenous Services Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION (ALL STREAMS)
Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in Nursing.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATE (ALL STREAMS)
Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory of Canada.

EXPERIENCE (ALL STREAMS)
Recent* and Significant** experience as a Registered Nurse in the area of practice of community health nursing such as Public Health, Primary Care, and Home & Community Care.

Recent* is defined as within the last five (5) years

Significant** is defined as at least two (2) years experience with performing complex activities related to this task in a wide variety of situations.

Experience in providing health care services to Indigenous people and/or Indigenous communities.

Experience working with a multi-disciplinary health care team.

Experience managing health programs and/or services

Experience working with or building partnerships with health organizations.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION (ALL STREAMS)
Master’s degree in Nursing from a Canadian University or recognised equivalent.

Certification in Infection Control.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE (ALL STREAMS)
Experience in providing presentations and/or preparing reports.
Experience in dealing with labour relations issues.

(STREAM 2)
Experiencing in managing First Nations Home and Community Care Program.

(STREAM 3)
Experience working in public health unit in Ontario for at least two (2) years.

A valid license to practice nursing in the province of Ontario with a CNO designation of Entitled to Practice.
