Information on accommodation for persons with disabilities
The objective is to characterize microbial communities related to manure, using microbiological and molecular biological methods. The graduate student will have to optimize a methodology based on DNA stable isotope probing combined with microbial community analysis by next generation sequencing. The main objective of the project is to identify the metabolically active bacteria in manure and in soils fertilized with manure.
At the Sherbrooke Research and Development Centre, the student will acquire experience in the realization of research activities in livestock production.

Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Biology or a related field of study. Currently enrolled or eligible to enroll in a master’s program for the 2018 summer session in a recognized post-secondary institution.
Experience in microbial ecology
Experience in extraction of microbial DNA and RNA.
In context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.

The knowledge can be acquired through studies/courses undertaken as a part of the post-secondary education.
