ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED FOR ALL POSITIONS)
EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
Candidates must always have a degree. The specialization may be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Courses in the following programs will be accepted for a specialization: Social Sciences (anthropology, history, psychology, geography, criminology, and other disciplines associated with social science); Public Administration, Political Science; Mathematics; Computer Science; Data Science/Data Analytics; Accounting; Demography/Population Studies; Environmental Sciences; Epidemiology; and Finance.
E1 –Experience* conducting research or analysis in the field of economic policy, social policy, service policy or corporate planning.
E2 –Experience* in contributing to strategic documents such as position papers, reports, presentations, policy analyses, annual reports, business plans etc.
E3 –Experience* in making recommendations to senior management (executives).
E4 –Experience* in collaborating with stakeholders or partners to develop policies, positions, strategies (including business and marketing) or directions.
* Experience refers to the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired over a period of three (3) years.

EDUCATION
AED1 – Master’s or PhD degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
EXPERIENCE
AE1– Experience working with First Nations, Inuit or Métis communities/partners/organizations to advance policy or program priorities (for example: child and family policies).
AE2 – Experience using statistical software (for example: SAS, SPSS, or STATA).
AE3 – Experience collaborating with multiple governments, organizations or partners on projects or processes.
AE4 – Experience leading components of projects related to policy development, business planning, measurement activities (such as performance measurement), risk management and reporting.
AE5 – Experience supervising or leading work teams on a short-term basis
AE6 – Experience working in government policy or government corporate planning.
AE7 – Experience representing your organization at meetings with stakeholders or partners.
AE8 – Experience preparing Memoranda to Cabinet or Treasury Board Submissions

There will be two (2) stages to the assessment process:
1. Online Application
2. Online Exam
Candidates who qualify in both assessment stages will be placed in a pool (a list of qualified candidates). Hiring managers may then invite candidates on this list to participate in informal interviews or reference checks to fill positions.

We will accept applications on-line only. To submit an application on-line, please click on the button “Apply online” below. Persons with disabilities preventing them from applying on-line are asked to contact a toll free number 1-800-645-5605.
During the application process, you must upload your resume and answer a series of screening questions. The online application may take 1-2 hours to complete. The questionnaire will assess the essential and asset education; essential and asset experience; as well as the following competencies: Working with Others and Initiative and Action Oriented.
Candidates must meet all the essential criteria in order to be appointed however, the asset may be required, depending on the position being staffed.
You may save your application as a draft and return to it at a later date. Your application must be completed and submitted in order to be considered. Partially completed applications, or those in draft cannot be considered. You can make modifications to your submitted application at any time, but once your application has been selected for screening, you will no longer be able to make modifications and your submission will be considered final.
Please note that asset qualifications, top-down and/or random selection may be used to identify which applications will be given further consideration.

You must provide proof of your education during the assessment phase. Candidates with foreign education credentials are required to provide proof of Canadian equivalency. Any applicable fees are the responsibility of the candidate.
Foreign certificates and/or diplomas must be assessed against Canadian education standards. The federal public service will accept any Foreign Educational Credentials as long as they are deemed comparable to Canadian standards, determined by a recognized credential assessment service.
The Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC) assists persons who wish to obtain an assessment of their educational, professional, and occupational credentials by referring them to the appropriate organizations.

Original diplomas, degrees or certified transcripts may be required and must be presented upon request. Failure to produce required documents will result in your application not being considered.
