In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
Master’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized university with acceptable specialization as a Nurse Practitioner.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Possess a Registered Nurse Practitioner license in good standing from the provincial regulatory body in a Canadian province or territory. (In order to be appointed, candidates must be registered in the province or territory where the position is being staffed.)

EXPERIENCE
A minimum of five years’ experience as a Registered Nurse.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EXPERIENCE
Experience working as a Nurse Practitioner.
Experience in program management such as needs assessment, planning organizing, coordinating and evaluation; or Experience in planning and implementing health related programs.
Experience in planning comprehensive discharge plans for individuals with complex medical problems.
Experience working with Indigenous communities.
Experience working in Emergency or Intensive care units.
Experience working in a community based setting such as Public Health or Community Mental Health.
Experience working in maternal or women’s health.
Experience working in a correctional environment.

Willingness to work outside normal or business hours with little or no notice.
Ability and willingness to travel within and outside the Atlantic Region

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Ongoing Nurse Practitioner registration with a provincial Nursing regulatory agency in the Canadian province or territory of practice with no conditions or restrictions.
Medical Clearance through Health Canada or alternatives designated by Health Canada.
Valid CPR (level C) certificate with AED.
