Intent of the process

A pool of partially qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures and language requirements within the Public Services and Procurement Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in accounting, business administration, commerce, finance or some other specialty relevant to the position.

NOTE: When education is required, candidates must always have a university degree. The courses for the specialization do not necessarily have to be part of a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

AND

Professional certification: Possession of a recognized professional accounting designation such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified General Accountant (CGA).

Degree equivalency

Experience


Recent* and at least four (4) years’ experience conducting in-depth financial analysis.
Recent* and at least four (4) years’ experience producing professional accounting reports (written).
Recent* and at least three (3) years’ experience in planning and conducting audit engagements.
Recent* and at least two (2) years’ experience conducting a quality assurance review of either co-workers or subordinates professional accounting or audit work.

*Recent experience is defined as within the past 5 years

Asset Specialized designation*

*CA-designated Specialist in Investigative and Forensic Accounting CA.IFA, or possession of the Diploma in Investigative and Forensic Accounting (DIFA). Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Certified Fraud Investigator (CFI). Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS). Chartered Business Valuator (CBV). Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) credential.

Knowledge of forensic accounting methods and techniques in a civil litigations context.
Knowledge of the stratagems of fraudulent transactions and legal elements of fraud and investigations.
In-depth knowledge of various financial information research and collection techniques in an investigation context.

Asset Experience

Experience working as a forensic accountant.
Experience working in an internal or civil investigation environment.
Experience working with large corporations (Revenue greater than $50M) or with public companies in the area of forensic accounting, investigations, internal controls or policy development and analysis.
