Statistics Canada’s census program is currently looking for dynamic individuals. In particular, the Yeti team is looking for a committed CS-02 Programmer Analyst for the development of challenging and great visibility initiatives. We are a very collaborative, motivated and technologically advanced group.

As part of the census tabulation system redesign for the 2021 cycle, the Yeti team is building an n-layered system using .Net Standard, Entity Framework Core, ASP.Net MVC Core, WPF, and SQL Server databases. We are also one of the cloud pilot development projects.

The current intent of this selection process is to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis.

A pool of fully assessed candidates may be established to staff identical or similar positions with various language requirements, tenures and various security requirements.

EDUCATION:
ED1- Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in information management, computer science, information technology OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

EXP1- Recent* and significant** experience in developing applications in C# .Net.
EXP2- Recent* and significant** experience in at least three (3) of the following domains: analysis, architecture, design, modeling, documenting, programming, or testing of software applications.

*Recent is defined as an experience having been acquired within the last five (5) years.
**Significant is defined as the experience that would normally be obtained in three (3) years by performing the full range of activities noted.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSETS EXPERIENCE:

AEXP1- Recent* experience developing applications with Entity Framework or Entity Framework Core.
AEXP2- Recent* experience developing applications using databases such as SQL Server.
AEXP3- Experience developing applications on the cloud.
AEXP4- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell to automate manual tasks.
AEXP5- Experience in SAS programming.
AEXP6- Recent* experience working with Jira and Confluence.
AEXP7- Recent* experience creating and executing test cases for regression, integration or user acceptance testing.
AEXP8- Recent* experience gathering and analyzing client and partner business requirements.
AEXP9- Significant** experience in developing applications in C# .Net.
*Recent experience is defined as usually acquired over the last 5 years.
**Significant is defined in this context as the experience that would normally be obtained in five (5) years by performing the full range of activities noted, within the last seven (7) years.
