Initially, this process will be used to staff the position on a temporary basis for a duration of 24 months with a possibility of extension.

Intent of the process

A pool of fully qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at Natural Resources Canada ACROSS CANADA with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), various linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative) (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential and Bilingual) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC), various security requirements (reliability or secret).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree in forestry or wood science from a recognized post-secondary institution; or Graduation with a degree in a related science from a recognized post-secondary institution combined with acceptable experience.

Degree equivalency

E1. Experience in implementing or managing partnership programs
E2. Experience in providing advice to senior officials
E3. Experience in planning or leading projects or programs to support science activities

K1. Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of various levels of government, and the interest of Indigenous communities, in the forest sector in Canada
K2. Knowledge of the mandate of the Canadian Forest Service and its strategic objectives

A1. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of government, Indigenous communities, or other forest sector stakeholders.
A2. Ability to analyse and interpret complex science/policy issues in resource management.
A3. Ability to communicate effectively orally.
A4. Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
