A secondary school diploma or an employer approved alternatives such as an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience in the inspection and control of highway maintenance and/or construction.

The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job)

English essential

Information on language requirements

Knowledge of highway maintenance techniques and procedures.
Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
Knowledge of maintenance quality control.
Knowledge of operation and capabilities of highway maintenance equipment.
Knowledge of survey practices.

Ability to provide field inventory control (for example of materials used on a highway maintenance project).
Ability to estimate construction quantity.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

Security: Reliability status.
Pre-employment to an isolated post.
Possession of a class 5 valid driver's license.
Required to wear all applicable personal protective gear (i.e. hard hat and safety boots) Required to travel in adverse conditions.
Required to work overtime. Required to work shifts and weekends.
