The Centre-du-Québec Business Office position is located in Drummondville. The incumbent will be required to work from the Drummondville office.
The Cantons-de-l’Est Business Office position is located in Sherbrooke. The incumbent will be required to work from the Sherbrooke office.

The Senior Advisor at a Business Office oversees a team of economic advisors whose key responsibilities include enabling business development, establishing partnerships with economic development players in the region served by the Business Office, and analyzing and monitoring applications for funding submitted by SMEs and economic development organizations. The incumbent manages human resources and assists in the management of a grants and contribution budget and an operating budget. He/she reports to a regional director.

The objective of this process is to fill one position on an indeterminate (permanent) basis at the Centre-du-Québec Business Office in Drummondville, and one position on an indeterminate (permanent) basis at the Cantons-de-l’Est Business Office in Sherbrooke. The pool created as a result of this appointment process may also be used to fill similar positions with various language profiles on an indeterminate (permanent) and term (temporary) basis in the Drummondville and Sherbrooke regions.

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with a specialization in business administration, commerce, economics, finance or regional development, or an acceptable combination of education, training and position-related experience.
EXPERIENCE
EE1: Recent and significant experience* in delivering a government economic program or in managing regional, industrial, sectoral or market economic development activities or initiatives.
EE2: Experience in supervising or coordinating the activities of a work team.
EE3: Recent and significant experience* in managing financial resources (such as an operating budget, grants and contribution budget, loan portfolio).
*Recent and significant experience is defined as a depth, breadth and variety of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex activities related to this task, acquired over a period of at least one year within the last three years.

EDUCATION
Master’s degree from a recognized university with a specialization in a position-related field.
EXPERIENCE
EA1: Experience in participating in working committees with other partners for the implementation of programs or initiatives.
EA2: Experience in reviewing funding files, including financial statement reviews.
EA3: In-depth human resource management experience.
EA4: Experience in working with client relationship management (CRM) software.
KNOWLEDGE
For the position in Sherbrooke:
Knowledge of regional economic development issues in Quebec and its regions, and specifically those facing the Cantons de l’Est region.
For the position in Drummondville:
Knowledge of regional economic development issues in Quebec and its regions, and specifically those facing the Centre-du-Québec and Montérégie-Est region.
