National flight operations is responsible for the certification and oversight of the major Canadian carriers. We are looking for highly qualified pilots who have airline experience. As an inspector you will be assigned responsibilities associated with the oversight of a company. You will carry out monitors of our delegates and be part of SMS oversight inspections with a team of multi sector experts.
We are accepting applications until May 1, 2019 to create an inventory of qualified candidates. However, you should apply now! Applications will be pulled every month for evaluation. The inventory will be updated every 90 days. The first pull and review of applications will be completed on June 29th, 2018. You will receive a notice in your applicant account 15 days before the end of your active period to determine whether or not you wish to keep being considered for an additional 90 days.
Pools of qualified candidates may be established within Transport Canada and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (including indeterminate / term / assignment / Secondment/ acting/ deployment) and/or various linguistic requirements (English essential, bilingual imperative BBB/BBB) and/ or various security profiles (reliability, secret).

Education:
ED : Successful completion of secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Occupational Certification:
OC1: Possession of a valid Canadian Airline Transport Pilot License – Aeroplane Category with a valid Group 1 Instrument Rating.
OC2: Possession of a valid Restricted Radio-Telephone Operator Certificate (endorsed Aeronautical).
Experience:
EX1 : Experience as pilot in command of multi-engine turbine powered aircraft of a Maximum Certified Takeoff Gross Weight of 50000 pounds or greater operating under Subpart 705 of the Canadian Aviation Regulations or Canadian military equivalent.
Education:
AED1 : Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with a specialization in aeronautical, mechanical or electrical engineering or computer sciences.
AED2: Post-secondary education in an aviation or related program to the position.
Occupational Certification:
Holds or has held one of the following:
DH8 or/and
EMB 170/190 or/and
CRJ or/and
Boeing 737 or 757 or 767 or 777or 787 or/and
Airbus A310 or A320 or A330/340 rating.
Experience:
AEX1: Experience as a training pilot.
AEX2: Experience as a pilot-in-command (PIC) in global operations including Trans oceanic.
AEX3: Experience as a PIC of multi-engine turbojet aircraft of a Maximum certified Takeoff Gross Weight of 100,000 pounds or greater.
AEX4: Experience on advanced technology aircraft.
AEX5: Experience as an Air Carrier Inspector.
AEX6: Experience as an Approved Check Pilot under Part 705 of the Canadian Aviation Regulations.
AEX7: Experience as an Instrument Standards Inspector.

Knowledge:
K1: Knowledge of Canadian Civil Aviation legislation such as the Aeronautics Act, Canadian Aviation Regulations and associated standards.
K2: Knowledge of risk management techniques.
K3: Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS).
K4: Knowledge of operational requirements and flight performance of a variety of large aeroplane types including current navigation systems, flight management systems and instrument flight guidance systems.
