Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar
positions with various bilingual language requirements (Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC and CCC/CCC) within the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. These positions may be staffed on a permanent or temporary basis.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternative.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

• Recent and significant* experience providing administrative support services such as arranging meetings, preparing background material, managing calendars, receiving and directing correspondence.
• Experience in managing an electronic calendar for a manager, including scheduling, planning and reminders.
• Experience in proofreading, editing and tracking correspondence or other documents.
• Experience in booking travel, modifying travel arrangements, and completing expense claims.

* Recent and significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience that would normally be acquired over a continuous period of approximately twelve (12) months and within the last three (3) years.

EDUCATION

• Successfully completed post-secondary studies in secretarial, office management, administrative support or other training relative to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in compiling information to support manager’s workload.
• Experience working with a document management system.
• Experience in managing small projects.
• Experience in managing travel arrangement for others within the Federal Government.
• Experience in using financial systems within the Federal Government.
