Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff four (4) positions with various language requirements, security requirements and tenures (casual, secondment, assignment, term, and indeterminate). Candidates who are found qualified or partially-qualified may also be used to staff similar positions across Canada. Positions may be filled in Victoria, BC; Vancouver, BC; Sidney, BC; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Burlington, ON; Sarnia, ON; Quebec City, QC; Moncton, NB; Dartmouth, NS; St. John’s, NL.

Information you must provide

Your résumé.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

E1. Recent* experience in developing health and safety policy instruments.
E2. Recent* and significant** experience in managing activities related to an occupational health and safety (OHS) program
E3. Recent* experience in developing or delivering training materials
E4. Recent* and significant** experience in providing OHS advice and guidance to managers, regional or workplace OHS committees or representatives***

*Recent experience is defined as within the last five (5) years.
**Significant experience is defined as experience associated with having performed a range of related activities which could normally be acquired over a period of approximately one (1) year.
*** Note: Experience limited to participating to OHS committee meetings, as a member, will not be sufficient

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Diploma or Certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution in Occupational Health and Safety or a Certificate, accreditation or Designation in safety management, such as the Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) Designation

Degree equivalency

The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job)

K1. Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code part II and other Canadian regulations governing OHS
K2. Knowledge of accident investigation and inspection protocols

AB4. Ability to provide advice and guidance based on the interpretation of policies and legislation related to OHS
