Intent of the process

A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be created to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, deployment, specified period, assignment, secondment), various security requirements and various language profiles. By default and in the interest of the greater public service, pools created as a result of collective staffing processes at ISED will be shared with other government departments.

For all Streams
EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives. The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
- A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
- An acceptable combination of education and experience, including at least 2 years’ experience in support or client service.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
For all Streams:
- Experience compiling, analyzing information and formulating recommendation to management.
- Experience in liaising with internal and/ or external stakeholders.
- Experience using MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience in providing client services.

Various language requirements
- Various language requirements (bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, English or French essential, or other possible language requirements).

Information on language requirements

For stream 1
- Experience in making domestic and international travel arrangements and processing expense claims
- Experience in managing the day-to-day operations in a senior management environment including the flow of documentation requests and information coming to and from Senior Management (i.e. Director or above).
- Experience managing the agenda, scheduling meetings, conferences (including assembling background material for meeting files) for a director or above

For Streams 1, 2 and 4
- Experience in planning and organizing events and related activities

For Stream 2
- Experience working on project teams supporting project cycle including: identifies goals, formulates strategies, implements, and oversees all steps in their proper sequence.

For Stream 3
- Experience in preparing, analyzing and providing advice on budgetary forecasts, or budget reports.
- Experience generating spreadsheet presenting financial and other data including filtering, sorting and formatting.


For Stream 4
- Experience in supporting HR planning and other human resources services, such as but not limited to recruiting, training, etc.

- Experience in creating project summaries
- Experience in drafting, editing and formatting various written documentation.
- Experience in providing guidance on Human Resources and/or, finance and/ or building management.
- Experience in the use of a financial software
- Experience in supervising staff
- Experience in using Government of Canada computer programs such as: Financial systems such as IFMS’ SAP or SFT (Salary Forecasting Tool); Government of Canada Shared Travel Services portal; Correspondence/Tracking system such as CCM Mercury; PeopleSoft or MyGCHR; CRM client relationship management; Spectra Plus; Microsoft Dynamic; Gcdocs or RDIMS.
- Experience managing a paperless office ( Electronic).
- Experience in developing training tools or administrative processes guidelines.
