As Regional Manager – Discipline Mechanical Engineering, you will :
- Be responsible for planning, organizing and directing the regional mechanical programs through the establishment of human and technical resourcing requirements of the projects.
- Provide consultant services in the mechanical engineering disciplines and specialist advice to the client service teams.
- Be responsible for mediating and resolving design and technical problems.
- Conduct quality assurance review on plans and specifications prepared by others to maintain the departmental quality standards.

The immediate need is to staff one permanent position in Montreal city.
A pool of partially qualified candidates will be created to staff similar positions with various tenures (term and/or permanent) within Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), Quebec Region.

EDUCATION : Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution* in mechanical engineering.
*Degree refers to a baccalaureate from a recognized university with a specialization in mechanical engineering.
PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATION: Canadian certification as an engineer.
EXPERIENCE
- Significant experience in the design and construction of projects of varying complexity and scope related to building mechanical systems.
- Recent* experience in developing and writing terms of reference or statements of work for the procurement of mechanical engineering services for projects.
- Recent* experience in reviewing documents prepared by other professionals / specialists / technologists for quality assurance and compliance with standards.
- Experience in project management of projects of varying complexity and scope.
Note :
Experience is defined as work-related experience acquired in the identified field following graduation from an undergraduate engineering program in an engineering speciality relevant to the position.
Recent* is defined as being within the last five (5) years.
Significant** is defined as the degree of experience that would be usually acquired in approximately ten (10) years within the last fifteen (15) years.

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge in the field of building mechanical engineering’s legislative framework, standards and national codes.
Knowledge in the field of building mechanical engineering’s theory, principles and practices used in designing, constructing and operating building mechanical systems, including HVAC systems, fire protection, plumbing and controls.
Knowledge of sustainable development solutions and compliance assurance standards; (e.g. LEED and BOMA BESt, ASHRAE).

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in managing human resources consisting of the full range of human resource management responsibilities of managing direct reports, performance evaluations, work load balancing and recruitment.
Experience in solving problems with mechanical systems and related controls systems.
Knowledge of Government procurement and contracting procedures and the Financial Administration Act.
