A pool may be created to staff similar positions with various tenures and/or with various linguistic profiles and/or various security clearance levels within Patented Medicine Prices Review Board in the National Capital Region.

EDUCATION
All streams:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with an acceptable specialization* in Economics, Sociology or Statistics.
Note: Candidates must always have a university degree. The courses for the specialization do not necessarily have to be part of a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
*An acceptable specialization is defined as at least two (2) university courses in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Sociology or Statistics.
EXPERIENCE
All streams:
*Significant experience working with statistical packages for the manipulation and analysis of large datasets, and identifying trends represented by the data.
*Significant experience in researching and summarizing economic, scientific or health information from multiple sources (e.g. internet, statistical databases, etc.).
*Significant experience writing or contributing to analytical studies, reports or briefing notes that summarize statistical and economic research and analysis.
*Significant experience in leading, planning and conducting complex statistical and economic research and analysis.
*Significant experience in preparing presentations and presenting project/study results to internal or external audiences.
Stream 2:
*Significant experience in participating in multi-disciplinary teams or consulting with internal and external diverse groups.
*Significant experience in analytical research on pharmaceutical pricing, utilization and cost trends.
"Significant experience" is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired over a period of approximately two (2) years for the EC-05 level and three (3) years for the EC-06 level.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
All streams:
Graduation with an advanced degree (i.e., masters or doctorate) in Economics from a recognized university.
All streams:
Experience in economic and socio-economic analysis on health care related topics.
Experience in analyzing large administrative databases.

All streams:
Knowledge of price indices, data standardization, and statistical methods.
ABILITY
All streams:
Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines under minimal supervision.
Ability to identify relevant policy issues and trends and formulate research questions.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to critically analyze data and summarize information to prepare clear and concise reports.

Knowledge of the pharmaceutical sector and issues related to pricing and reimbursement.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willingness to work overtime and have flexible hours during periods of heavy workload;
Willingness to travel on occasion.
