Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one (1) LP-01 indeterminate position bilingual imperative BBB/BBB and one (1) LP-02 indeterminate position bilingual imperative BBB/BBB.

A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established from this process which may be used to staff similar positions within the Department of Justice with various tenures (indeterminate, acting/acting extension, specified period, assignment/secondment, deployment, etc.), various language requirements (English essential, French essential, English or French Essential, bilingual imperative of various levels) and various conditions of employment, which may vary according to the position to be staffed.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION

OC1: Eligibility for membership in the Bar of one of the provinces or territories of Canada or in the Order of Notaries in the Province of Quebec.

EXPERIENCE

Stream 1 - LP-01

EX1: Experience in conducting legal research.
EX2: Experience in providing legal and policy advice.

Stream 2 - LP-02

EX1: Experience with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
EX2: Experience in analyzing and preparing opinions/memoranda on legal and policy issues.

EX3: Experience in criminal law.
