The Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) work together to fulfill the Government of Canada’s mission to defend Canadian interests and values, and to contribute to international peace and security. DND is the largest federal government department in Canada and is part of the Public Service of Canada. Internally, DND and the CAF are collectively termed the Defence Team and civilians make up close to 25 per cent of the organization. As public servants and members of the Defence Team, civilians work side-by-side with CAF personnel for the defence of Canada and Canada’s contribution to international security and stability efforts.
There is an immediate need to staff two (2) permanent EG 04 (Electrical and Mechanical) positions in Petawawa, one (1) permanent EG 05 position in Trenton and one (1) permanent EG 05 position in Kingston, Ontario. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions, with varying tenures.

Education:
ED1 - Graduation with a three (3) year diploma applicable to the position being staffed from a recognized college and eligible for certification as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.)
OR
ED2 – Certified Engineering Technician qualification applicable to the position being staffed from a recognized College
Experience:
All experience must be relevant to the position being staffed.
EX1 - **Recent experience working in institutional, industrial or commercial architectural, mechanical (HVAC/Plumbing), civil or electrical (High voltage and Facility/Building Distribution systems) engineering design and analysis
EX2 - **Recent experience in planning, investigating and preparing detailed designs and computer aided drawings for projects to be used specifically for tendering purposes
EX3 - **Recent experience preparing specifications and cost estimates
EX4 - **Recent experience in project management
**Recent is defined as experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
EX5 - Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
For EG 05 positions only:
EX6 – Experience supervising

EG 04 - $59,842 - $72,804
EG 05 - $65,822 - $80,083
