Information on accommodation for persons with disabilities
Under the general direction of the Director, Capital Division, the Analyst will be responsible for:
- Conducting research and analysis to inform the development of capital-related policies or guidelines for financial institutions.
- Analytically assessing the impacts and implications associated with proposed policy changes.
- Providing interpretations of capital-related policies or guidelines.
In addition, the incumbent may be called upon to support/execute special projects related to responsibilities of the Capital Division.
This process may also be used to create a pool of partially-qualified and/or qualified candidates to staff identical or similar positions with various tenures (e.g. indeterminate, term, casual) and other requirements at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.

EDUCATION:
- Graduation with a degree* from a recognized university with an acceptable specialization in economics, commerce, business administration, finance, accounting, actuarial science, mathematics, public administration, or another specialty relevant to the position.
*The term “degree” refers to a baccalaureate or a higher level degree, as established by educational authorities.
EXPERIENCE:
- Recent* experience in conducting research and analysis related to financial institutions, financial products or other relevant aspects of the financial sector.
- Experience in writing correspondence, reports, presentations and briefing notes for senior management**.
- Experience in consulting with stakeholders.
- Experience using each of the following Microsoft Office Suite applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
*Recent is defined as within the last 5 years.
**Senior management: Depending on the organizational structure, senior management could mean such levels of management as the executive group, director level and above, etc.
ASSET EDUCATION:
- Graduation with a graduate degree*** from a recognized university with an acceptable specialization in economics, commerce, business administration, finance, accounting, actuarial science, mathematics, public administration or another specialty relevant to the position.
- Professional designation in a field relevant to the duties of the position (e.g. CPA (CA, CGA, CMA), CFA, CRM, or CIA)

- Experience on working groups tasked with the resolution of policy issues affecting the financial sector.

OSFI's Ottawa location is downtown with easy access to shopping, restaurants, gyms, financial institutions and more. The building is less than a five minute walk from the Transitway and from the nearest STO stop.
As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
