Duties

Environmental Services lends its expertise to Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) and other federal departments in carrying out their mandates, including environmental issues. Under general supervision, specialists manage projects, studies, investigations, compliance assessments and audits on a variety of issues in addition to proposing appropriate actions in support of compliance of both departmental, federal, provincial, territorial, and municipal regulations and standards.

Work environment

A wide range of opportunities exist for individuals seeking new challenges in a highly dynamic work environment. Joining PSPC is advantageous for several reasons:

Our offices are located in major urban centers of Montréal and Québec; those in Montréal have easy access to public transport (subway, train station, bus) while those in Québec, surrounded by nature, adjoin an arboretum and have a fantastic view of the river no matter the season!

Since January 2018, employees of Place Bonaventure have been working in an activity-based work environment. What does this mean? There are various types of work stations suited to diverse tasks, meaning that you won’t have an assigned workspace. Make your workplace your own!
• Reflection rooms
• Telephone booths
• Collaboration spaces with a TV screen
• Adjustable work stations
• Latest tools and tech
• WiFi everywhere
• And much more!

Take advantage of alternative working arrangements including telework, a compressed workweek, or a flexible schedule all while contributing to an organization dedicated to ensuring the well-being of its staff. In fact, PSPC is the first department to appoint a mental health Ombudsman.

Did you know that PSPC was selected as one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers in 2018 for a second year in a row? We invite you to join an organization that is committed to ensuring an inclusive workplace and respect for all!

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff a position, the length of which is two years (renewable), by August 2018; to this end, a CV extraction is planned for May 14, 2018.

Many rounds of extraction and evaluation may be conducted in order to create pools which may be used to staff identical or similar positions within Public Services and Procurement Canada whose duration, linguistic profile, and/or security requirements could vary depending on the position to be staffed.
