The Receiver General and Pensions Branch (RGPB) plays an important role in the daily operations of the Government of Canada as a key provider of high quality services for federal departments and agencies. Intent of the process

Anticipatory staffing. A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions, with various language requirements and tenures (Indeterminate, Acting, deployment, and assignment) within Public Services and Procurement Canada.

EDUCATION:
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Significant* and recent** experience working within a payments and/or within a cash management and/or treasury environment

Recent** experience in developing, conceptualizing, and implementing banking services

Recent** experience interpreting and applying government and industry policies, procedures and guidelines to banking, treasury and/or financial operations

Experience in leading teams and/or supervising staff

Note:
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a minimum of three (3) years.

**Recent is defined as experience acquired within the last 5 years.

KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of emerging trends in the payments industry.
Knowledge of the Receiver General’s stewardship role.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:
Experience liaising with internal and external stakeholders, that may include major government departments, Central Agencies, financial services providers and industry associations
Experience preparing briefing notes and material for senior departmental management
Experience giving presentations to large-scale audiences on banking-related issues
Experience working with federal/provincial/territorial counterparts
Experience in systems development and application management
