Work environment

The Information and Knowledge Management Division provides department-wide leadership in information and knowledge management. The Division acts as a centre of expertise in these disciplines by adopting an enterprise view that focuses on people, interoperability and connectivity through the development of information and knowledge-sharing activities such as architectures, conceptual models, collaboration and networking strategies, policies, standards, records, library, mail and associated directory services.

Intent of the process

FUTURE NEEDS:
Although the immediate intent of this poster will be to fill four (4) indeterminate positions with bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, CCC/CCC OR English Essential, applicants should be aware that this selection process may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various linguistic profiles and security requirements, conditions of employment as well as various tenures (acting, assignment, deployment, term, indeterminate and secondment) across Health Canada and Public Health Agency of Canada. Education:
Successful completion of secondary school education or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience in a field relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
Experience in managing projects, activities or initiatives.
Significant experience* in providing customer service.
Experience in the preparation and presentation of operational reports.
Experience in providing advice to management **.

*Significant experience means experience obtained by the candidate representative of the depth and breadth of experience that would normally have been gained performing the duties for a period of approximately three (3) years.

**Management: Manager level or above.

Asset qualifications:

Education:
Post-secondary degree related to information systems, information sciences, records management or other relevant discipline.

Experience:
Recent* and significant** experience in delivering information management activities.
Recent* and significant** experience in using, supporting and training on an electronic document management system (EDMS) such as LRS server, RDIMS, GCdocs, Microsoft SharePoint, etc.
Experience in developing information management processes and procedures.
Experience in identifying, tracking and advising clients and managers on relevant information management issues, trends and tools.
Experience in delivering presentations or training sessions.
Experience in participating in various working groups or committees.

*Recent: refers to experience normally acquired within approximately the last five (5) years.

**Significant experience means experience obtained by the candidate representative of the depth and breadth of experience that would normally have been gained performing the duties for a period of approximately two (2) years.
