The Canada School of Public Service is an organization of approximately 600 employees that has the mandate to provide a range of learning activities to build individual and organizational capacity and management excellence within the public service.

Intent of the process

To staff two (2) indeterminate positions. A pool of qualified candidates resulting from this process may be established and may be used to fill similar positions with various tenures within the Canada School of Public Service.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.

Notes: Indeterminate incumbents of PE positions and of positions in the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions and in Indian Oil and Gas Canada that are equivalent to PE positions on October 1, 1999, who do not possess the education level prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing PE positions and positions in the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions and Indian Oil and Gas Canada that are equivalent to PE positions. This note also applies to persons appointed or deployed, for an indeterminate period, to PE positions after that date as the result of staffing transactions started before October 1, 1999. The positions in the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions and in Indian Oil and Gas Canada that are equivalent to PE positions are those that meet the Treasury Board definition for the PE occupational group.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
PE-02 and PE-03*:
Experience providing advice, guidance and operational services to managers on organizational design and classification issues.

*Experience for the PE-03 position will be assessed as per the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance as an HR professional who has handled a large volume of diverse classification transactions and responsibility of an important portfolio, this in consideration of the classification cases completed for the classification accreditation.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
All group and levels:
Experience using PeopleSoft, other than the Self-Service functionality.

Participated and/or chaired Classification Committees.

Experience leading a project, i.e. development and implementation of a national standardized job description, a national organizational review, etc.

Experience working in a corporate classification role.

PE-03:
Experience in the application of the Executive Group (EX) Position Evaluation Plan (i.e. Hay Plan).
