Health Canada's Information Management Services Directorate within Corporate Services Branch is a national organization, with a wide variety of work that can be performed regardless of geographic location. Duties

The managers are responsible for providing expert advice on management services for various aspects of Information Management (IM) within Health Canada (HC) and the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC). They support departmental functions such as: Policy and Governance; Open Government, Operations and Records Management Services. The managers are responsible to develop a strategic vision and provide expert advice and managerial expertise in leading teams that develop and implement IM solutions and processes, maintain IM systems, and deliver IM services.

The managers will establish, manage, and maintain an IM community presence within HC, PHAC and across Canada. The managers will be required to work closely with the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) IM analysts and Library and Archives Canada (LAC) archivists to ensure Departmental and Agency IM compliance. The managers act as primary point of contact for communicating within HC and PHAC on the Information Management Policy. One of the managers will lead the development of all IM strategies, planning, reporting, governance, and performance measurement related to all activities of the Information Management program. The other manager will be responsible for the IM operations. The managers must be proficient in the use of both official languages on a daily basis.

Work environment

The organizational structure of the Information and Knowledge Management Division (IKMD) is comprised of two (2) AS 07 manager positions reporting to the Director (EX-01) as well as one (1) AS-06, one (1) AS-05 and one (1) CS-04. There are also regional positions (AS-06) reporting to one of the AS-07 manager positions. This process will be used to staff one indeterminate position and one determinate position, both at the AS-07 level.

Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff two (2) positions (determinate and indeterminate), and to create a pool of fully or partially qualified candidates that may be used to staff similar positions at an identical or equivalent group and level with various languages proficiencies (Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB, Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC, Bilingual Imperative CCC/CCC,), various security profiles and various tenures using various staffing activities for positions within Health Canada and Public Health Agency of Canada. Education:

Experience:
