The Canada School of Public Service is a small organization (approx. 600 employees). Through its mandate, it plays a key role in all departments of the federal public service and provides its employees with a workplace where learning and professional development are valued.
The intent of this process is to staff fifteen (15) positions with various linguistic profile. A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions with various tenures, locations and linguistic profiles within the Canada School of Public Service.

EDUCATION

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.
EXPERIENCES
ALL STREAMS
E1: Experience in working with various software programs, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint in a work setting environment.
E2: Experience in the provision of client services.
STREAM 1: Administrative assistant/Administrative Officer
E3: Experience providing administrative support services* in an office environment.
*Administrative support services may include: sorting e-mails; coordinating correspondence, travel; filing and bring forward system, translation, and finance, human resources, purchasing, scheduling, agenda and meeting coordination, and hospitality document control.
E4: Experience in coordinating travel, accommodation arrangements and supporting the financial activities.
E5: Experience in reviewing, tracking and formatting correspondence.
STREAM 2: Client Guidance Officer/ Client Service Assistant
E6: Experience working in a client services environment, resolving problems and presenting service options.
STREAM 3: Event Administrator
E7: Experience in the provision of events service support including logistical planning.
E8: Experience in coordinating logistics support for the preparation and delivery of large scale (50 or more participants) conferences, events, or information sessions.
Various language requirements
Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, Bilingual imperative CBC/CBC, Bilingual imperative CCC/CCC, Unilingual English or French Essential.
Note: The unilingual positions are located in the following cities: Winnipeg, Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Québec and Edmonton. The needs are anticipatory.

AE1: Experience proofreading outgoing correspondence, briefing notes and question and answer documents for content and format in a federal government environment.
AE2: Experience in recording and extracting information in a database.
AE3: Experience in researching information from various sources and collating data from a database system in order to prepare reports.
AE4: Experience in using software such as a financial management system (SAP), correspondence management system (Irims), or a Learning Management system (ILMS).
AE5: Experience liaising with the offices of senior management.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice.
Reliability Status security clearance
Applicants must complete the Public Service Entrance Exam: Test of Judgement Unsupervised Internet Test as part of the screening for this selection process. This test assesses the judgement required for solving problems in work-related situations. You will have 75 minutes to complete the test. You must complete the test before you submit your application for this position.
