Internships are located in Ottawa/Gatineau.

Graduates of the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) Student Refugee Program can apply from anywhere in Canada but must not apply to more than one location. Willingness to relocate (at your own expense) will be verified before making referrals for a position.

Casual - Interns may be offered an initial 90 working days casual contract and, where possible, a second casual contract of 90 working days. A pool of candidates will be used to staff positions in the above-mentioned locations within various federal, provincial and municipal sector organizations.

Permanent residents or Canadian citizens who have been in Canada for 10 years or less and who are currently residing or are employed in the National Capital Region or within a 125 kilometer radius of Ottawa (ON)/Gatineau (QC), within Canadian territory, extending to, amongst others, Kingston (ON), Pembroke (ON), Maniwaki (QC) or Rigaud (QC).

World University Service of Canada (WUSC):
Permanent residents or Canadian citizens who have been in Canada for 10 years or less, who are currently residing or are employed in Canada or who have graduated from WUSC Student Refugee Program.

    You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Education:
ED1. Successful completion of two years of secondary school.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
EX1. Experience providing administrative support services in at least three of the following: coordinating incoming and outgoing correspondence, managing calendars, scheduling and organizing teleconferences, videoconferences, meetings or events, note taking, making travel arrangements and/or setting up and maintaining filing systems
EX2. Experience using Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint or equivalent software
EX3. Experience formatting, developing and/or distributing various documents

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Asset Education:
AED1. Secondary School Diploma
AED2. Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Business Administration or Administrative Services or other applicable disciplines

Degree equivalency

AEX1. Experience assisting a manager or a director in an office setting
AEX2. Experience providing guidance to clients
AEX3. Experience in planning events such as, meetings, seminars or training sessions

- Interviews and tests will be conducted at the location of the employer's choice during June, July and August. If you do not attend assessments at the scheduled date and time, your application might be rejected. Candidates will be given at least 48 hours’ notice of interview and must be available.
- Tests may be administered during the day and evening.
- When answering the pre-screening questions, you must provide specific examples to clearly demonstrate how you meet the qualifications (education and experience, essential and asset). During the initial screening process, the Screening Board will be reviewing the applications to assess if the required qualifications have been demonstrated by candidates. Invitations to interviews will be based on the screening results.
- References could be sought by employer for candidates who are successful in the process.
- Receipt of applications will not be sent; only candidates successful in the screening process will be contacted.
- You may have to provide proof of your educational credentials.
- You will be asked to provide your proof of permanent residency or Citizenship.
- Please note that travel or relocation expenses will NOT be reimbursed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada or any other hiring departments/organizations.
- The Immigrant Serving Organization indicated in your application will be contacted to verify that you were screened.
- If successful, your application may be shared within IRCC and may be shared with other hiring Federal Government departments, agencies and crown corporations, and other participating provincial and municipal sector organizations for potential employment opportunities.
- Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada's management may choose one or more Asset Qualifications at the pre-screening stage to determine the number of applicants who will advance to the following stage of the selection process.
- This selection process will be used by various departments, agencies and organizations.
