EDUCATION
Stream A and B (Manager, Internal Audit - Manager, Quality Insurance)
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in accounting, finance, business or public administration, economics, commerce or some other specialty relevant to the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
Stream A and B (Manager, Internal Audit - Manager, Quality Assurance)
- Recent* and significant** experience in preparing written materials (such as reports, presentations and/or briefing notes) for senior/executive level management.
- Recent* experience leading teams, including internal staff and/or consultants.
- Experience in managing human resources***.
*Recent experience is defined as experience normally associated with performance of duties within the last 5 years.
**Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a minimum of 3 years.
***Human resources management: Applicants must clearly demonstrate that they have supervised employees, assigned work, managed and assessed performance.
EXPERIENCE
Stream A (Manager, Internal Audit)
- Recent* and significant** experience leading all phases of audit projects (planning, conducting, reporting).
- Experience in conducting multiple audit projects concurrently.
- Experience in presenting audit findings and defending audit conclusions and recommendations to senior/executive level management, Boards of Directors or Audit Committees.
EXPERIENCE
Stream B (Manager, Quality Assurance)
- Experience in developing or implementing a Quality Assurance and Improvement Program, including approaches and processes for the conduct of internal and external assessments, quality assurance and performance measurement of audit activities
- Experience in leading the management and/or assessment of audit recommendation follow-up activities
- Recent* experience in conducting or managing external assurance provider (e.g. Office of the Auditor General, Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development, Office of the Comptroller General) liaison activities
- Recent* and significant** experience in presenting advice and recommendations to senior/executive level management, Boards of Directors or Audit Committees.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Stream A and B (Manager, Internal Audit - Manager, Quality Assurance)
- An internal audit designation, such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE); OR a recognized professional accounting designation (i.e., CPA-CA, CPA-CMA or CPA-CGA).
ASSETS EXPERIENCE
Stream A and B (Manager, Internal Audit - Manager, Quality Assurance)
- Experience in the development of risk-based audit plans.
- Experience in using audit working paper software such as TeamMate.
ASSETS EXPERIENCE
Stream A (Manager, Internal Audit)
- Experience in leading all phases of internal audits in the federal government.
- Experience conducting information management and technology audits.
- Experience in using ACL and/or IDEA software.
ASSET EXPERIENCE

- Experience in developing or implementing Internal Audit Performance Measurement Frameworks.
