Duties

National Dosimetry Services (NDS) is a cost-recovery dosimetry service provider that provides dosimetry services to over 100,000 Canadians and emergency dosimetry services. The Manager of the Research and Development and Process Support (R&D and PS) Section is responsible for leading projects aimed at improving NDS technical operations. The successful candidate will manage the R&D and PS staff, maintain the section's budget and contribute to the overall direction of the Division. The section is also responsible for the regular performance testing of the dosimetry systems as well as ensuring that all equipment used in the technical operations is calibrated and maintained.

Intent of the process

The immediate intent of this poster is to fill one (1), bilingual position on an indeterminate basis.

Applicants should be aware that a pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements listed in the Language Requirements section. In addition, this process may be used for various tenures (acting appointments, assignment, deployment, indeterminate, specified period, secondment), security requirements and conditions of employment within Health Canada in the National Capital Region. EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
EE1 Experience in leading projects involving diverse multi-disciplinary teams in a science-based environment.
EE2 Experience negotiating and resolving issues amongst diverse stakeholders.
EE3 Experience in the analysis, integration and presentation of scientific data.
EE4 Experience in providing advice and recommendations to clients or management.

ASSET EDUCATION
AEd1 Master's degree or Ph. D. from a recognized university in a specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

ASSET EXPERIENCE
AE1 Experience working in a regulated or accredited laboratory or production environment.
AE2 Experience in regulatory affairs.
AE3 Experience in working with dosimetry instrumentation systems.
AE4 Experience working with SQL, Oracle, or other database software.
AE5 Experience managing very large (greater than 100 unique tables) data sets.
