Education:
• A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Operational Certification:
• First Aid (can be Marine Basic First Aid, Marine Advanced First Aid, or Occupational First Aid Level 3).
• FOODSAFE.
Experience:
• Recent/Significant experience in Hospitality/Hotel Services; or providing professional housekeeping; or janitorial services; or services with the food industry; or experience as a steward on an ocean going vessel.*
*Note: Recent/Significant is defined as at least six months within the last three years.
Experience:
• Experience in taking inventories and ordering supplies.

• Marine Emergency Duties STCW – Basic Safety [MED A1 & B2].
• Marine Emergency Duties STCW – Survival Craft [MED B1].
• Valid Medical (new hires: Transport Canada Marine Medical or Health Canada Periodic 3).
• Valid Canadian Passport.
• Must be willing and able to wear a Respiratory Protection device and meet the standard of the CCG Respiratory Protection Program – RPP.
• Willingness to wear and maintain a uniform per Canadian Coast Guard standards, inclusive of CSA approved safety footwear, and maintain job related personal safety equipment.
• Must be willing and able to lift at least 20lbs.
• Must be willing and able to be deployed.
• Must be willing and able to perform Overtime work as required, often on short notice.
• Must be willing and able to work shiftwork.
• Must be willing and able to work aboard a vessel for up to 42 consecutive days.
• Must be willing and able to travel by air, land, or by sea.
