Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) shapes the face of Canada. We connect with almost every Canadian, welcome the vulnerable from abroad and build the diversity that is part of our Canadian identity. We are looking for people who are passionate about our mandate and take pride in how enabling services are integral to delivering it.
The Workforce Management team (RIR) is part of IRCC’s International Network. RIR offers a dynamic and fast pace environment where innovation and creative ideas are strongly encouraged. Over 20 officers and assistants provide crucial support to IRCC’s International Network activities. RIR manages the assignments for 340 positions abroad occupied by rotational Canadian officers, delivers training, organizes the recruitment of agents, and handles locally engaged staff issues in co-operation with Global Affairs Canada. Owing to the diversity of its mandate, RIR offers multiple opportunities to candidates seeking professional and personal growth.
As an assignments assistant, you will be expected to perform duties such as regularly updating assignment related lists concerning officers located abroad, in Canada, or on leave; ensuring that officers’ biographies are current; screening requests received from agents in the field or at headquarters; responding to inquiries in a timely manner or forwarding complex requests to the assignments officer responsible; developing/refining tracking tools and charts using software such as Excel and Word to monitor assignments’ progress and follow up; archiving information so that it can be easily retrieved, and replacing the Director’s assistant as required.
We have virtual relationships with colleagues and partners in Canada and abroad. We believe in work-life balance. We care about our colleagues, work as a team and believe in excellence while having fun.
This process will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates which could be used to staff similar positions with various groups and levels, various linguistic profiles, various security profiles and various tenures within Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
