Intent of the process

Anticipatory: A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future vacancies (including similar positions, on a casual, term, or indeterminate basis, at full or part time hours) located in Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley or Fraser Canyon, BC. Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of one year and may be extended.

Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

This pool will be used to staff the following 5 streams of CR-05/AS-01 positions:
--Stream 1: Criminal Intelligence Information Researcher/Security Screening Analyst (CR-05 and AS-01)
--Stream 2: Finance (CR-05 and AS-01)
--Stream 3: Supervision (CR-05 and AS-01)
--Stream 4: Information Management (CR-05)
--Stream 5: General Office Administration (CR-05 and AS-01)

Different pass marks will be established for each type of positions - i.e. CR-05 and AS-01.

Positions in the Criminal Intelligence Researcher / Security Screening Analyst stream are responsible for researching, reviewing and analysis of protected, classified and sensitive information and intelligence compiled from a wide range of sources, including operational databases and third party open source material. The material analysed for links to criminal or suspicious individuals/organizations, activity, and behaviour patterns. Researchers and analysts are responsible for making recommendations to management regarding the issuance, abeyance or denial of RCMP security clearances.

Positions in Finance are responsible for obtaining, controlling, reviewing financial information on Journal Vouchers / Fund Transfers and ensures it validity and integrity before entering into TEAM. This ensures accurate information is posted in our financial books. The position may prepare Journal Vouchers / Fund Transfers on ad hoc basis and assist in the preparation and/or evaluates financial coding requests to meet national Hierarchy Management guidelines. The position provides advice and guidance related to financial coding, our accounting system, and detachment queries. Position will extract financial information and provides input to the preparation of reports that allows clients or analysts to make sound decision. Position also provide training to new staff on duties listed above and will assist with administrative tasks.

Positions in the Information Management stream provide awareness, guidance and governance support on the life cycle management of administrative and operational records to ensure compliance with policies, directives and legislation. They are responsible for analyzing and making recommendations on the application of IM programs and creating and delivering training and awareness sessions to clients to ensure understanding of Information Management practices.

Positions in the Supervision stream include those that supervise/lead a team of employees, including but not limited to: assignment of duties, training and coaching, performance management, approving leave, etc. Positions that supervise may also fall within one of the other streams.

Positions in the General Office Administration stream include those that provide general administrative support and/or coordination to a unit/section/program.
