Education:
Successful completion of secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Occupational Certification:
Possession of a valid Canadian Dispatch Certificate AND possession of a valid Restricted Radio Telephone Operator Certificate (endorsed Aeronautical).
Experience:
EX1: Recent and significant* experience as a dispatcher in a Type A co-authority system with Subpart 705 Category aircraft, or military equivalent.
EX2: Experience applying risk management concepts and principles.
*Recent and significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a period of two years within the last five years.
Education:
AED1: Post-secondary education in an aviation or related program to the position.
Experiences:
AEX1: At least 2 years of experience as an Authorized Check Dispatcher in Subpart 705 operations, or military equivalent.
AEX2: Experience as training dispatcher or instructor of dispatchers for a Subpart 705 operator, or military equivalent.

Knowledge:
K1: Knowledge of the Aeronautics Act, Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and Transport Canada policies and procedures relating to air carriers operating large aeroplanes under the CARs, specifically Part VII.
K2: Knowledge of operational requirements and flight performance of a variety of aeroplane operations including Performance Based Navigation (PBN), Extended Twin Engine Operations (ETOPs), low visibility operations.
K3: Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS).
K4: Extensive knowledge of the air transportation industry’s operations and management practices.
