Intent of the process

This process will serve to create a group of qualified candidates which may be used to staff similar positions with various language requirements, security requirements and tenures at Veterans Affairs Canada.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
►Bachelor's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization relevant to the duties of the position; OR, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
**Acceptable combination of education and training is defined as a secondary school diploma combined with approximately two years of experience related to the delivery of programs and/or services to the public.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
►Experience in analyzing, interpreting and advising on complex regulations, policies or programs.
►Recent and significant experience in Financial and Material management.
►Recent and significant experience in managing employees. This includes, but is not limited to, mobilizing and directing employees towards a common goal, setting clear work expectations, evaluating performance over a complete performance cycle and, following through with honest feedback that recognizes performance and manages non-performance.
►Recent and significant experience in managing operational programs or the delivery of services to the public.

* Recent is defined as within the past 5 years.
** Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various complex related activities which would usually be gained within a full fiscal cycle/one year.

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

Candidates must meet all the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.
Management may choose to invoke an asset(s) at any point of the process. Please note that achieving the pass mark on any of the assessments used does not mean you will move forward in the selection process. Management may decide to use a score that is higher than the pass mark on any of the evaluations used throughout the selection process. Management may also decide to use top-down selection at any stage of the process.

Indeterminate employees at the same group and level or equivalent could be considered for deployment. If no deployment is made, applicants from other groups and levels will be considered in the advertised appointment process.
