Intent of the process

The intent of this ANTICIPATORY process is to fill:
Stream 1 - PROJECT SPECIALIST - PC-02: $68,891 - $82,590
Stream 2 - PROJECT OFFICER - PC-03: $83,007 - $98,777

The intent of this process is to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff positions with various tenures (such as indeterminate or specified term) and/or security clearances (such as Reliability or Secret) and/or linguistic profiles within Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada, and other federal departments and agencies in the North.

EDUCATION:

Both streams:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized university, with a specialization in engineering, environmental science, geology, biology, chemistry or other science relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Both Streams
E1 - Experience in contaminated site assessment, contaminated site remediation, mine reclamation or environmental site assessment.

E2 - Experience analyzing and reporting on scientific data.

E3 - Experience in the design and implementation of environmental programs.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE FOR STREAM 2:

E4 - Experience in communicating technical or complex issues to the public or management.

E5 - Experience in developing or reviewing specifications, terms of reference or scopes of work.

EXPERIENCE:

Both streams
AE1 - Experience working within a cross cultural environment or with Aboriginal organizations.

AE2 - Field, mining or remote site experience relevant to the position.

Stream 2:
AE3 - Supervisory experience.

KNOWLEDGE:

Both streams
AK1 - Knowledge of remediation techniques for cold climates.

RELIABILITY/SECURITY: (Enhanced) Reliability

Medical clearance as per relevant Treasury Board directives and policies.

Requirement to follow Environmental Health and Safety Management Systems (EHSMS) at all times as well as camp rules at remote sites.
