You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Education:
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Experience:
Experience in designing, developing, documenting, testing and maintaining Information Management and Technology (IM/IT) solutions and services.
Significant** experience in designing and developing Web based Java EE enterprise applications using Java EE version 5 or higher.
Recent* experience in developing and designing Java EE enterprise applications using Java Web Frameworks, such as but not limited to JBoss Seam and Spring MVC.
Experience in developing applications using Structured Query Language (SQL).
Experience with HTML and CSS when developing Java based Web applications.
NOTE:
* Recent is defined as experience gained within the last five (5) years.
** Significant is defined as the breadth, depth, and complexity of experience normally associated with full time performance of duties.

Asset Experience:
Experience with Object/relational Mapping (ORM) tool such as but not limited to Hibernate, EclipseLink, TopLink, when developing Java based application.
Experience in developing Java EE applications that use Soap/Rest Web Services.
Experience with HTML5 when developing Java based Web applications.
Experience in developing Web applications using Government of Canada Web Standards and Frameworks (e.g. CLF2, Web usability, Web interoperability and Web accessibility, Web Experience Toolkit(WET)).
Experience developing applications using the Eclipse integrated development environment (IDE).
Experience in supporting applications in Java EE certified application servers (e.g. JBoss EAP7, IBM WebSphere 8, Glassfish v2).
Experience in developing Java EE enterprise applications using JavaServer Faces (JSF).
Operational Requirements:
The successful candidate may be required to work overtime (evening, weekends and statutory holidays) on occasion.
