Duties

Providing technical services in support of Regional NPP delivery, and enforcing relevant sections of the Navigation Protection Act (NPA); Reviewing project submission plans, specifications and technical data respecting construction or modification of structures, facilities and marine works, and identifying potential impacts, mitigation requirements; Planning and conducting inspections, investigations to determine navigability of waterways, hazards to navigation, threats to marine safety, compliance with prescribed protocols, and resolving complaints and contravention allegations pursuant to the NPA.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of a program of study at a post-secondary institution in the following fields of study: engineering, engineering technology, hydrography, surveying, geomatics, construction, marine, environmental science or any other field related to position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in the interpretation and enforcement of laws and regulations
• Experience in site inspections requiring data collection and information logging
• Experience in providing client services to stakeholders, organizations or to the public
• Experience in interpreting technical plans
