Duties

The Human Resources Advisor will provide guidance on files related to Performance and Talent Management, Learning (including Second Language training) and Onboarding, among others.

Work environment

Courts Administrative Service (CAS) is an organization of approximately 700 employees who work to support four of Canada’s federal Courts. The Human Resource Division is made up of a dynamic team of 25 individuals who collaborate to deliver on CAS’ plans and priorities.

Centrally located on 90 Sparks Street in downtown Ottawa with easy access to major bus routes for both OC Transpo and the STO, we value work-life balance and offer flexible work arrangements to devoted employees.

As an HR Advisor PE-03, your work would consist of developing strategies, designing and delivering training to managers/ supervisors, reviewing policies and implementing programs in support of programs such as Performance and Talent Management, Learning, Onboarding, and more!

Research, analysis and document/ communications preparation will make up a significant portion of the work. Therefore, we need someone with an analytical mind, who can think strategically, make connections and has strong written skills. We also need someone who is not afraid to meet with key stakeholders including Senior Management, and speak in public.

Intent of the process

To staff one (1) position for an indeterminate appointment. As a result of this process, a pool of qualified candidates may be created to staff similar positions at the PE-03 group and level (acting, specified period appointment, assignment or secondment), with various linguistic profiles at Courts Administration Service.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.

Degree equivalency

EX1: Sound experience* in providing advice and guidance related to at least 3 of the following HR disciplines: Performance Management, Talent Management, Learning, Planning, Staffing, Official Languages, Diversity (Employment Equity/Multiculturalism) or any other discipline relevant for the job.

EX2: Experience preparing and delivering presentations to employees and managers/supervisors on different HR related subjects.

Sound experience* is defined as a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a HR environment at the functional level (i.e. PE-02 or above). Functional level will be judged based on the depth and scope of the projects, and the degree of independence of candidates in their projects and initiatives.
