You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. EDUCATION:
Successful completion of a secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Possession of a valid Canadian Commercial Helicopter Pilot License.
Possession of a valid Group 4 Instrument Rating.
Possession of an unrestricted Cat 1 medical.
Possession of a valid Restricted Radio Operators License (endorsed Aeronautical).
EXPERIENCE:
Significant and Recent experience in a variety of Canadian helicopter operations
Significant and Recent experience in Vertical Reference Slinging operations
Experience in financial and personnel management.
Experience in Microsoft Office
Minimum of 3000 hours on turbine Helicopters
Minimum of 2000 hours of pilot-in-command in Helicopters
Note: "Significant” will be evaluated in regard to amount and complexity of work performed. Clear and specific examples should be provided by candidates in their application

KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and Standards as they apply to Helicopter operations
Knowledge of Aircraft Services Directorate operating policies, standard practices and procedures as set out in the approved Helicopter Operations Manual
Knowledge of Canadian Coast Guard shipboard helicopter procedures and operations as set out in the Shipboard Helicopter Information and Procedures manual.

Experience:
Recent experience as pilot-in-command on Bell medium helicopters.
Experience in IFR operations.
Experience in Helicopter mountain flying.
Experience in Arctic flying.
"Recent" is defined as within the last 5 years.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Willing and able to complete Transport Canada Aircraft Services sponsored mandatory Helicopter Underwater Emergency Egress (HUET) Training
Secret security clearance
Willing and able to spend up to 6 weeks, continuous, away from base
Willing and able to be tasked on short notice for trips of shorter duration away from base
Willing and able to work overtime.
Willing and able to attend meetings away from base on short notice
Written tests may be administered.
Interviews may be administered.
Reference checks may be sought.
