Duties

Issuance of weapons and ensuring that they are issued in accordance with member requirements and safety policies and procedures;

Full range of procurement activity, ranging from determining what is needed, source of supply (standing offer or directly from source), best price and the quality and safety of products and whether products meet the RCMP standards.

Preparation of equipment and supplies to support operations which also involves reviewing requests to ensure that they are complete and identifying the need to follow-up to clarify discrepancies. Day-to-day application of health and safety practices, particularly when handling weapons, ammunition and dangerous goods.

Provides a counter service to regular members for the issuance and receipt of all equipment and supplies, including weapons required for operational purposes, ensures that members are eligible and entitled to these items and that accurate tracking systems reflect current information on who is in possession of these supplies.

The work impacts on the preparation and delivery of equipment and goods, that are in good working order to support RCMP operations and the timely preparation and delivery of these supplies in the event of an emergency.

Receives goods from external suppliers; inspects goods for compliance with Hazardous Products legislation, RCMP equipment quality standards and with acquisition documents and accepts/rejects shipments that are non-compliant.

Work environment

Technical Operational Logistics Stores (TOLS) are warehouse-type environments with a customer service component, we fall under National Division and we provide Logistics support to RCMP members on and off site during any given event and day to day Operations.

Please note that the shift work required is as follows and includes weekends:

Day Shift 5:00 AM - 15:00 PM
Evening Shift 12:00 PM - 22:00 PM

Intent of the process

The intent of the selection process is to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff future term, permanent Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB positions with a RCMP Top secret security clearance. The positions are located at 1426 St Joseph Blvd, Orléans, ON.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Should a Public Servant employee be found qualified and selected for appointment, notification regarding the PS appointment will be posted accordingly on https://www.canada.ca/en/public-service-commission/jobs/services/gc-jobs.html.
